Maya and Duránd Introduce Labs

Labs was born from a belief that technology should elevate human potential, not replace it. Not to disrupt for disruption's sake — but to design, intelligently and intentionally, for what matters most: our shared human journey.

As partners in life and work, raising nine children together, we understand the stakes of the future we're helping shape. The world they'll inherit depends on what we choose to build now. So we created Labs to be the kind of company our kids — and yours — can be proud of. A company grounded in emotion, not just code. A company that feels.

Between us, we bring a lifetime steeped in the creative arts. Maya, born in D.C. and raised in Maryland, is a chef, fashion designer, and product creator. Duránd, born in Chicago and raised in Detroit, is a musician and professional DJ. We are both graphic designers, coders, and builders — obsessed with the intersection of design, culture, and technology. These aren't side pursuits. They're how we've always served people. How we've told stories. How we've shaped experiences.

In a world approaching the singularity, we believe creativity is not a luxury — it's an imperative. The arts teach us to feel, to connect, to imagine. And imagination is the root of all intelligence.
